An Excellent Mid Round Golf Snack To Stay Focused.

birdie bar

My go to mid round snack for the past few years has been a small bag of salted peanuts. It is quick and easy to eat while making the turn and has a good amount of protein in each bag. I must admit that it really never gave me any type of boost that I was hoping for so I’m always looking for something that has low sugar, high protein, keeps me motivated, and willhelp me stay focused.

I actually found a really great choice for a mid-round or even pre-round snack. The product is made for golfers and is called Birdie Bar. It helps you remain focused, fights fatigue, energize your muscles, and increase performance. The company offers the Birdie Bar in a few flavors including Chocolate Brownie, Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, and Oatmeal Raisin Cookie. Each bar contains 18 grams of protein, 4 grams of sugar, and a full bar is only 230 calories.

I tried the Chocolate Brownie Birdie Bar. The bar itself is thick, and although very fudgey there was absolutely no mess like other chocolate protein bars I’ve tried in the past. It had a slightly doughy texture and tasted quite good. I also gave a Birdie Bar to a few fellow golfers in my group to try and they had the same thoughts regarding texture and taste, and they also really liked that there was zero mess after eating the Birdie Bar.

Here’s what the company says about Birdie Bar – Most nutrition bars create insulin spikes because of their high sugar content which can inhibit the game of the golfer significantly. Insulin spikes can make you jittery, lose focus, and make you fatigued very quick. The Birdie Bar consists of healthy carbs and fats to harness energy to muscles, high protein to fight fatigue, and low sugar to avoid insulin spikes and crashes. Since you are on the course for many hours at a time, the Birdie Bar provides you with the essential nutrients you need to sustain mental focus and physical stamina without feeling fatigued.

After eating a Birdie Bar at the turn for 4 rounds over 2 weeks for the test, the results are quite impressive. For those rounds my back nine scoring was several shots better than normal. With nothing else changed, the only thing it could be was the Birdie Bar was actually keeping me more focused and less fatigued. If eating a Birdie Bar at the turn is the answer, I’m sold! I may even start eating a Birdie Bar before my round of golf starts.

The company website is www.parform.com and the Birdie Bars cost $34.88 for a box of 12. The company will also allow you to buy a variety box of 4 of each of their 3 flavors.
