I generally don’t use the shaft that comes with my driver, as it never seems to really fit my swing, and swing speed. I’ve tried an expensive driver shaft which I was sold at Club Champion when getting fitted, it never really performed as expected. More recently, I have been using the Jupiter shaft, from Steadfast Golf which to be honest is very good, however I am always interested in better dispersion and longer tee shots.
As I read about a new shaft coming to market from Sacks Parente Golf, which is known for very high-quality putters I was intrigued as the press release talks about “distance made easy”, and how they accomplish that, so I had to try it. It is a new business division of Sacks Parente Golf with the brand-new Newton Motion shaft. At first look it has a cool color to it, which also changes when the sun hits it. It’s a carbon fiber shaft which is tailed to your swing speed, instead of the generic S,R,X, XS options which are very general.
Below is information from Sacks Parente regarding their new Newton Motion shaft…..
The Newton Motion driver shaft, the first Newton shaft to debut in the market, is a carbon fiber shaft designed to enhance a golfer’s performance by promoting straighter and longer shots with reduced effort. Using the Company’s proprietary shaft design and construction, the Newton Motion shaft features four essential technologies:
Elongated Bend Profile
Kinetic Storage Construction
Newton Symmetry360 Design
Variable Bend Profile
The Newton Motion shaft uses a DOT system. Ranging from one to six dots, the system allows for a seamless transition from the most flexible shaft at one dot to the stiffest at six dots. SPG’s innovative DOT system, employed by SPG’s expert shaft engineers, optimizes golf shaft performance by fine-tuning it to golfer’s unique abilities, leaving traditional flex systems in the past.
The Newton Motion shaft is visually captivating. When in motion, the shaft undergoes a mesmerizing color transformation from green to purple and various shades in between. The coloration not only adds a dash of style to a golfer’s game but it also distinguishes itself from other shafts in the market.
The Newton shafts are manufactured in St. Joseph, Missouri, SPG’s shaft manufacturing facility.
The shafts are sold “ready to play.” Shaft adapter and grip are included. The grip is a Lamkin Crossline 360. There are adaptor options to choose from for the driver head. SPG uses a dotted shaft flex system ranging from one to six dots.
- One Dot – Swing speeds less than 75 mph/ or driving distance less than 180 yards.
- Two Dot – Swing speeds 75-85 mph/ or driving distance from 180 – 220 yards
- Three Dot – Swing speeds 85-95 mph/ or driving distance from 210 – 240 yards
- Four Dot – Swing speeds 95-105 mph/ or driving distance from 230 – 260 yards
- Five Dot – Swing speeds 105-115 mph/ or driving distance from 250 – 285 yards
- Six Dot – Swing speeds 115-plus mph/ or driving distance from 275 – plus yards
The above information and all the science that goes into the new Newton Motion shaft is very impressive to say the least, however, the most important part is how the new Newton Motion shaft performs on the golf course. First, I went to the range before taking it on the golf course and hit about 30 balls with it just to get a feel for how it felt. You immediately notice the shaft color which is not like the standard black shafts most shafts are. I also liked how I could swing more freely without worrying about the golf ball going sideways. The initial test on the range was impressive, most golf balls right down the middle. It could not determine if it was longer than my current shaft at the range, as our range does not allow you to determine that. Time to hit the golf course.
My first few drives were pretty good, almost the same as my current drives. Then at the first par 5, I hit one that was the longest in my group, which never happens. I was about 25 yards longer than normal. After the round I noted that more than half of my drives were at least 15-20+ yards longer, which my playing partners asking me “what’s going on”.
It’s been 12 rounds with the Sacks Parente Newton Motion shaft and my drives are averaging about 15 yards longer, many are 20+ longer. The drives are also much straighter, and I am playing more often out of the fairway and further down the fairway. Nothing else has changed except the new Newton Motion shaft in the exact same Ping G410 driver head I have been playing for 2 years.
Bottom line, the new Sacks Parente Newton Motion shaft has exceeded my expectations. It is longer, straighter and has given me confidence every time I get up to hit a drive. My scores have gone down by several strokes per round, and my playing partners have all asked about the new shaft. I am a firm believer that the technology and science that Sacks Parente has put into the Newton Motion shaft is the real deal. It offers exceptional distance, better dispersion, and I also like the color changing feature. It’s a winner in my book!
The new Sacks Parente Newton Motion shaft can be purchased here, https://newtonshafts.com/, and the cost is $250.00 with Lamkin grip and adapter.
