The Acu-Strike Impact Golf Training Aid was named a Best New Product Award Winner at the 2019 PGA Show. I would best describe the Acu-Strike as an indoor mat sized 19” x 10” (their outdoor version is a bit smaller) which is placed upon carpet or concrete. Acu-Strike’s mats can be used with or without a golf ball. The mat uses a special fabric that is designed to leave a dark mark where your club hit in relation to the ball. This allows you to instantly correct your swing path, so there’s no more guessing. When the seasons change and there’s no way to go out and practice, you can still use the Acu-Strike indoor mat to stay on top of your game.
I tested the Acu-Strike and initially took some swings without a golf ball. However, I felt that it was even more helpful when using a golf ball. The Acu-Strike mat without question showed me the exact path that my golf club was swinging through the golf ball.
I tried both the indoor and outdoor mats, one at the driving range and one in my basement on carpet. I hit around 25 shots with each and the feedback these mats provide is very impressive. After each shot, you can use your hand or the back of the golf club to reposition the mat back to where you started with no marks on it – a very simple process. Note that I’ve included pictures showing of how the mat looks before and after hitting several shots. The Acu-Strike is truly a great training tool for everyone.
The company is Acu-Strike Golf, and their website is www.acustrikegolf.com The company offers both indoor and outdoor mats along with a combo package which includes one of each. There are several combinations to choose from, and prices start at only $39.99 and up depending on which mat you prefer and how many.
I think that the Acu-Strike Golf Mats are an excellent training aid and something I will take to the range often. It is a great tool for all golfers to use and will certainly provide immediate visual feedback that you can use to make immediate changes to your swing.
