I got fitted about 2 years ago for a driver at high end fitting company. It was a very cool experience and I was there for about 1.5 hours trying numerous drivers and shaft combinations. I hit over 100 shots and after everything was said and done, the fitter told me I need to upgrade to a higher end shaft which would improve my dispersion.
I ordered a new Callaway driver with an Accra shaft. I had never heard of the shaft company before but the fitter seemed confident this would improve my driver accuracy and distance. Once I received the new driver in the mail with the $300 Accra shaft I was so excited to hit the range and then the course. I felt so confident that I got fitted and had the best driver and shaft combination that fit my swing.
I played exactly 6 rounds with that really expensive driver and shaft combo as I never hit the driver that well. It didn’t improve my distance and my shots were not nearly as straight as they used to be. I then bought a Ping driver with a factory shaft that it came with and hit that better.. until now!
I found a company called Steadfast Golf and saw an ad for a new Made in the USA driver shaft; with them touting it will be up to 15 yards longer and up to 50% straighter than your current shaft.
Their website says that the Steadfast Golf shafts are made with premium carbon fiber which costs up to 10X times more than most competitors. They also use a proprietary manufacturing process which allows their shafts to be finely tunes, superlight and effectively spineless shafts with less than 1 degree of torque, that delivers the most distance and accuracy for your swing.
I was skeptical, as I’ve tried so many other products that promise 10 more yards, straighter drives, etc..I put one of the Steadfast Golf shafts in my Ping G410 Driver. First to the range for some practice. It’s hard to really determine if anything is longer on the range but I wanted to get a feel for it. The shaft seemed a tiny bit stiffer but besides that no other concerns, time to hit the golf course.
I have played over 15+ rounds with the Steadfast Golf shaft in my Ping Driver and I am amazed!! I can honestly say without question I am hitting the golf ball further by at least 10-20+ yards. I play the same golf course at least 3 days per week so far my drives normally go, and where the golf ball usually ends up. It was an immediate shock from the first tee onward that my golf ball was going much further. I was amazed to say the least. There were even several guys in my regular group saying to me how are you hitting the golf ball so much further. It was a great feeling to be able to get closer to the “long hitters” in my group, usually I’m not even close. In my opinion I would be considered more of a short but straighter hitter, but not anymore… I’m longer and straighter!
Overall, Amazing! The Steadfast Golf shaft was definitely longer and straighter. I still can’t believe how much further I can hit the golf ball. After playing for over 25 years and constantly searching for more distance, I’ve finally found the answer, Steadfast Golf shafts.
The company website is www.steadfastgolf.com and the company sells direct to consumer. There is no middleman markup, no tv advertising, no PGA tour player endorsements, so their shafts can be sold at a very affordable price. The cost for a Steadfast shaft is only $99.00 and comes in S, R, Stiff and X. The shafts are available for Ping, Callaway, TaylorMade, Cobra and more brands are coming online all the time.
